🔴 शहीद भगत सिंह से जुड़ी एक ग़लत जानकारी फैलाने की कोशिश की गई कि उन्हें 23 मार्च को नहीं, 14 फरवरी को फांसी दी गई थी. पर हकीकत ये है कि 1929 में असेंबली में बम फेंकने के बाद भगत सिंह को अंग्रेजों ने गिरफ्तार किया था. भगत सिंह से जुड़े इस मामले की तेज गति से सुनवाई के लिए तब के वायसराय लॉर्ड इरविन ने एक प्रीवी काउंसिल का गठन किया था. तब एक भारतीय डिफेंस कमेटी ने प्रीवी काउंसिल के खिलाफ पंजाब में अपील की थी, जिसे जज विस्काउंट डुनेडिन ने ठुकरा दिया था।

🔵 इसके बाद 14 फरवरी 1931 को कांग्रेस पार्टी के अध्यक्ष मदन मोहन मालवीय लॉर्ड इरविन के सामने एक यदा याचिका डाली, मगर ये याचिका भी स्वीकार नहीं की गई और भगत सिंह को 23 मार्च 1931 को शाम 7 बजकर 30 मिनट पर लाहौर जेल में फांसी दे दी गई. भगत सिंह के साथ उनके दो साथी राजगुरु और सुखदेव भी थे.

🔴  Freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar and Shivaram Rajguru were three great sons of India, who breathed their last as 'martyrs'. All three of them were influential revolutionaries, who sacrificed their young lives to make their motherland, free from the shackles of the British rule.

🔵 Bhagat Singh, a Sandhu Jat, became so popular that he had become the symbol of the new awakening among the youths.

🔴  According to facts, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were sentenced to death in 'Lahore conspiracy case' and were ordered to be hanged on 24 March, 1931. But, the schedule was moved forward by 11 hours and they were actually executed on 23 March, 1931 at 7:30 pm.

🔵 However, there has been a controversial 'malicious campaign' doing the rounds on social media, about the date of deaths of the three martyrs.

🔴  Whether it is a hoax or a rumuor, some claim that Bhagat Singh and his comrades were hanged on February 14, 1931, a day that is celebrated as Valentine's day.

🔵 When rumours are spread on such sensitive issues, then, it shows that we are not giving sufficient acknowledgement for the sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters. Spreading misinformation about the date of their deaths is not only a mockery on their struggle, but also a conspiracy to spread feelings of hatred, on a day that is meant to spread love. On the social networking site Facebook, many people have mentioned that, "Most of us know 14th Feb as Valentine Day.. but in the morning of 14.02.1931 at Lahore, the legendaries were hanged to their deaths. We only celebrate valentine day.. Let us pass this message to every 1 we know,to salute and pay respect to their sacrifice also.. Let Us Be An Indian First..!!"

🔴  So, it's an appeal to all rumourmongers, please do not spread venomous propoganda by twisting the facts about the freedom fighters' martyrdom.
