Dharma accepts and understands the practicalities of life

Dharma neither regards various forms of penance such as, religious austerity (e.g. fasting) as supreme nor attaches any importance to meaningless renunciation of physical pleasures.

Intention of Dharma is that individuals should experience bliss and happiness in their life. Such happiness could be spiritual as well as material [experienced through senses]. None of such happiness enjoyed within the boundaries of Dharma should be seen as condemnable.

In itself generating and maintaining wealth isn’t a sinful act. Dharma never prohibits such acts as long as the means used; do not harm other people. If the means are nefarious, such goals [generating wealth etc.] are condemned by Dharma. Dharma identifies such acts as being evil, forbids them and shows the right way of doing things.

Similarly, marrying to have good family is deemed as virtuous by Dharma. Any form of spiritual or material pursuits; be it religious observances or indulgence in luxury, wealth, marriage, etc. do not pose any hindrance to attaining perfection in life. This is true as long as they are done with an aim of facilitating ones own spiritual well-being and doing good to society. On the other hand, they will be looked down upon (by Dharma) if their focus shifts from enriching and progressing ones life to selfishness.
