ЁЯФ╖ It was the time of aarti. The temple of Lord Jagannath was reverberating with the elevating sounds of conch-blowing and bell-ringing. Standing by the side of Garuda-pillar, Mahaprabhu Chaitanya was immersed in singing the glory of God. The gathering of devotees inside was swelling by the moment.
ЁЯФ╢ Fresh arrivals were finding it difficult to get a darshan (view) of the Lord’s image. An oriya woman, having exhausted all the attempts at darshan, climbed the Guruda pillar, planted one leg on the Mahaprabhu could not stand this audacity of the woman and started rebuking her. But the Mahaprabhu stopped him and said: “Why interfere? Let her continue with her darshan. Alas! Had I too possessed her intense thirst for darshan, I would have been blessed.”
ЁЯФ╖ As soon as Mahaprabhu had spoken these words, the women jumped down and fell at his feet begging forgiveness. Mahaprabhu withdrew his feet and consoled her: “Arey! What are you doing? It is I who should bow at your jeet so that I, too, may be filled with the devout longing for the Lord as you are”.
